Invitations

This time of year a lot of our time is spent on Wedding Invitations... designing, ordering, and assembling. Part of the ordering process is deciding what the print content of the invitation will be. A common question I hear is: "How do I include our parents on the invitation?" Here are the 2 suggestions that are used most often:

Mr. & Mrs. Joseph and Jane Smith
request the honor of your presence at the
marriage of their daughter

Samantha Marie
to
Josh Douglas

son of Mr. & Mrs. Jacob and Mary Jones

Mr. & Mrs. Joseph and Jane Smith
along with Mr. & Mrs. Jacob and Mary Jones

request the honor of your presence at the
marriage of their children

Samantha Marie
and
Josh Douglas

Obviously, we can tweak the ideas above to accommodate your family's dynamic.... separated/divorced parents, parents who are re-married, or deceased parents. The only right way to format the print on your invitations is... what is right for you.

Exactly What You Want

I have taken a little (ok – very long!) break from the blogging world. But, now I am excited to be back!

This time of year involves a lot of planning and decision-making for the year ahead. It seems a bit odd to not spend every weekend at a local venue preparing for a couple’s wedding day. Instead, we spend our time with consultations… meeting with the brides, grooms, mothers, and friends to gain an understanding of what their vision is for their wedding and then creating a plan for how we can create that vision for them. The one item I always keep in mind is, “What does the bride truly want?” I think this is what creates an extremely happy bride. Give her what she wants. I love my job, and I look forward to giving many of you “Exactly what you want!” in 2012.

We have added services in 2012 that will enable Walnut Street Weddings to give our clients even more! Services now include:

Disc Jockey
Specialty Lighting
Photobooth
Videography
Tent, Table, and Chair Rentals

I will share more about these services in the weeks in come... Happy Planning!

The Walkway

Last weekend we worked at a venue that was new to us - The Walkway in Mattoon. It was fantastic. The venue was clean and ready for prep. And, the management was great to work with. I would recommend this venue to couples in the Mattoon local area - check it out at 1501 Lakeland Boulevard.

A note from Michelle

Walnut Street Weddings was on site at Michelle and Rob's evening wedding reception to coordinate and carry out all of Michelle's wishes...

Hello Billi,
Thank you again so very much for helping me the night of our wedding. We received several compliments about you and I really don't know how I could have ever done it without you. I know that we kept you very busy. Your services were wonderful and I so appreciated your attention to the details. I am so particular and it helped tremendously to know I was working with a wedding coordinator that was particular about details, as well.
Thank you again for everything...
Michelle

Classic Country

Sarah & Mike's wedding had a classic country feel which was created by the unique pieces the bride pieced together. Sarah put a lot of energy and creativity into her reception decor and it showed in the details. Their initials branded into the wooden centerpiece base was my personal favorite...
